Release Notes for v78:

  • OS Upgrade to 78

  • Fix for button rendering in some login screen interactions: In v76 and v77 we found and have fixed some issues where login screen buttons involved in new profile creation, special 3rd party login tools like Clever, and other button were rendered in a way that made them difficult to click.

  • Fix for graphics issues in certain i-Ready games: Certain older Intel desktops were having issues rendering i-Ready Educational games. This issue is resolved.

Known Issues

  • Intel G33 chipset displays black wallpaper after logging out: Older Intel desktops with G33 chipsets display wallpapers incorrectly after initial log in and log out takes place. This issue does not impact usability.

  • Installing plugins is not possible via new Settings menu: Changes to the browser and OS settings menus in v78 make it impossible to click “Install” to add CloudReady’s media plugins. Devices updating to v78 that already have plugins should have no issues.

  • Display output causes crashing on Intel “Pineview M” devices: We’ve seen devices crash when attached to an external VGA monitor on v78.1. The bug appears limited to older, smaller Intel devices with GMA 3150 or other “Pineview M” family graphics.

  • Rendering issues at login screen for Intel i915 devices: Across various older Intel devices, we’re seeing issues where the text is not displayed properly when signing in a new user at the login screen, and some unexpected transparency while a session is locked.

  • Some Nvidia graphics fail to render certain sections/pages: We’ve seen a few Nvidia devices on which the chrome://flags page, and the update management section of the settings menu, are not displayed.

  • Certificate management buttons are missing from settings menu
