Hey CloudReady Fans!

We're releasing v70.4 to all channels of the Home Edition today!

UPDATE: The update to all channels for our Education and Enterprise customers has also been released on Tuesday, December 18, 2018.

In keeping with our recent update patterns, ".4" indicates that this release is a stability-update for all Home Edition users, and will reach our Education and Enterprise Edition customers on the Stable Channel for the first time.

Release Notes for v70:

  • OS Upgrade to 70

  • Fix for graphics issues at login with AMD graphics: Devices with AMD GPUs had some graphics issues on the login page.

  • Fix for 1/8” audio jack on iMac 12,1: The device was showing headphones as connected but did not actually output sound.

  • Fix for trackpad on Macbook Pro 9,2: Some MBP 9,2 trackpads ceased to work after a few reboots post install.

  • Fix for Flash issue: In v69.1 and 70.1, Adobe Flash was not working. This is fixed for 64-bit CloudReady v70.2+.

  • Fix for Dell Optiplex GX520 and GX620 audio output: The volume control for the front 1/8” audio output now works and is no longer too loud.

  • Fix for audio over HDMI: Audio over HDMI is working again on 64-bit images on Inspiron 15 (3531), Thinkpad SL510, Lenovo B590 & some uncertified models.

  • Fixed: 32-bit CloudReady builds were unable to play Flash in v70.2 and v70.1. This now fixed in v70.3+.

  • Fix for Acer Aspire One 532h: The install screen was cut off slightly.

  • Fixed: When on the locked or logged out screen in earlier versions of v70, the info in the top right corner was all on one line. This is fixed for v70.3+.

  • Fixed: We've seen sporadic "Sorry, something went wrong there. Try again." errors upon login on v70.1 and v70.2. In most cases, another attempt to login was successful. Regardless, we are no longer seeing the initial errors in v70.3+.

  • Fix for some desktops (Dell Optiplex 745, Lenovo ThinkCentre M77): Headphones would not work at first, until unplugged and re-plugged in. This has been fixed in v70.3+.

  • Fix for Dell Optiplex GX520, GX620: Unmuting was not working. This is now fixed.

  • Fix for HP dc5800: We have fixed the problem where this device was unable to resume from sleep.

  • Fix for Avantis Classbook 14: This device was booting without loading wifi, and had problems with sound output. Both issues have been fixed in v70.3+.

  • Fixed login issues on some devices on v70.3.

  • Fixed Wi-Fi for Asus Vivobook Flip 14 TP401NA and other devices using the Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Wi-Fi chipset: Wi-Fi issues on v.70.3 have been fixed for 70.4.

  • Fixed: White rectangle and blue loading dots were displaying when signing in another user. This has been removed.

  • Fix for HP x360 Spectre: LED for the mute key (F6) was not working. It now properly lights up when muted. Note: To unmute, use the volume up key (F8).

Known Issues

  • Some AMD Radeon GPUs have graphics glitching or do not allow login on v70 of CloudReady: If you have this problem, try disabling AMD/Radeon graphics in your device's BIOS, or remove your AMD/Radeon graphics hardware in favor of integrated Intel graphics.

  • Dell Optiplex 3060/5060/7060 front combo port audio does not work: This device detects headphones when plugged in, but no sound comes through. The device does have a rear audio port that works. However, when plugged in the back, it is not seen as headphones plugged in either.
