Hey CloudReady Fans!

The Neverware team is very excited to promote our latest release v54.2 on the Beta & Stable channels.

Your machines will update automatically if you leave them powered on and connected to the network. If you need an image of this update for new installs or reinstalls, you can reach out to support. Keep in mind that, if your devices are not updating, and/or are stuck on v46, you may need re-visit these steps we posted last year in order to make sure your fleet is up to date. We very much encourage our customers to always be on the latest version of the software.

Release Notes for v54.2:

  • OS Upgrade to 54
  • Re-establish sleep/resume behavior on certain devices

    • Dell Optiplex 7020, 990, 3020, 790, 3010, 7010, 9010, 390

  • New Media Plugins setup

    • New feature! This is something we worked very hard to deliver after receiving feedback from many of our customers about how critical it is to be able to view certain types of media. We added the ability to install media plugins across your entire fleet of machines from the Customer Portal. This means you can enable the install of Flash, Widevine and Proprietary Codecs for all of your managed CloudReady devices from one place. And with the option to enable Proprietary Codecs, users have a broader range of media formats to enjoy.

    • We rolled out a more user-friendly navigation menu on the Customer Portal with the Media Plugin change. As always, let us know what you think!

  • TPM-enabled on specific machines in support of hardware-backed certification functionality

    • Dell Latitude E5420, E5430 and E6230

  • RAM Efficiency fix

    • We implemented the Chrome OS low mem kernel feature - which is critical for proper memory management in Chrome OS. It allows the browser to make more intelligent decisions on what to terminate when memory is getting low. Swap partition is also enabled with this change. Our testing has shown an increase in overall better performance on all machines.

  • New Certified Models

    • Dell Latitude 3340, 3350

    • Lenovo ThinkCentre E73

    • HP Probook 6450b, mt41

    • Lenovo Thinkpad E531

  • iMac 9,1 backlight fix [CFV-41]

  • AMD processor video playback fix [CFV-42]

  • Chromecast media-plugin fix [CFV-43]

  • Fix for Machines with Intel GLE chipset reporting bad wireless behavior and freezing [CFV-40]
